Federal Hydra-Shoks are one of the most recognized ammo types in or out of the shooting community and are a classic choice for self-defense due to their unique design. These 9mm Luger rounds produce a smoother, slower cycling impulse due to the heavy 147 grain Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) projectiles; this combines with the lighter recoil of a standard pressure charge to enable faster follow-up shots for dire situations. The Hydra-Shock projectile design has a serrated jacket around its hollow cavity as well as a center plunger inside the hollow point.
