ALUMINUM TO STEEL
PAGE TWO !
My cracked and scarred aluminum factory Rim's have seen enough rocks and keeping them clean of brake-dust and corrosion is IMPOSSIBLE - So let's get those steel ones I just bought mounted !
Off to Tire-Warehouse on Gold Street in Manchester, NH
Back home they were washed and coated in Armor-All to get rid of the dirty and dried-up look. Note that I also had the black-walls mounted on the outside this time to get rid of the white lettering...
According to my neighbor the wheel-weights need to be hand-painted as they stick out like a sore-thumb...
The spare tire is painted to match, mounted and balanced. But the drivers side tires still need to be changed over to the steel rim's and the left-rear tire doesn't match the other 4 BFG's as It's the original "Goodyear Wrangler". So I need one more 30" BFG tire to make them all match...
( I cant wait to get started on a new beefy bumper out back that moves this tire off to the right ! )
This picture Isn't all that good as most of the JEEP is in the shade but you get the idea...
Last picture of the new rim's... Just needs ONE more thing for the back... read on...
A REAL Military Pack Cover fits over your spare tire BTW... and they are only $8 bucks!
