This target load is packed with a half ounce of #9 lead shot, which is cast extra hard to help it keep its streamlined form for superior accuracy en route to its target. This particular shot size is relatively small, which means even a 2 1/2” 410 Bore shell can still contain approximately 292 of them. That’s great if you want a dense spread to snaggle up clays in, although #9 isn’t known as a particularly effective choice even for smaller birds.

Federal gave this shell a wad that patterns evenly, a charge of propellant that burns cleanly, and their own 209A primer that delivers reliable ignition without fouling a firearm with insidious residues.
