Federal didn’t get all weird and twisty while designing this cartridge. It’s actually the most common type of 5.56 there is: M193 spec, hence its 55 grain full metal jacket bullet. You’ll find no more appropriate bullet for casual target shooting than the FMJ, which is inexpensive courtesy of its light weight and simple design. No steel. No terminal expansion. Just a nonferrous bolt of lead and copper which follows a level trajectory straight to its target.
