This Extra Credit section is all about the stuff that surrounds the armed and safe lifestyle. This is your home to learn more about gun culture, gun rights and other ways to safely enjoy your right to keep and bear arms.\r\n\r\nSome people might say that there is no such thing as \u201cgun culture.\u201d We disagree. Enthusiasts of any sport or activity tend to form their own culture around their hobby of choice. That is definitely the case with guns, as we tend to not only form our own clans, but we also form clans around our firearm of choice.\r\n\r\nAnd don\u2019t even get me started on CZ owners. We\u2019re just a bunch of freaks\u2026\r\n\r\nHowever, gun culture is different from the cultures that form around other hobbies. No other hobby, no other pastime is enshrined into the Bill of Rights. There is no Constitutional right to golf clubs or the right to knit and keep scarves.\r\n\r\nThis is where our gun rights come in. The Founding Fathers believed that right to self defense is one of the cornerstones of all other rights found in the Constitution. Without the right to self defense, everything we own, all that we have, is subject to the whim of a tyrant. Expansive, unhindered gun rights are essential to a free country. Let\u2019s let Thomas Jefferson tell us, in his own words, just how important they are.\r\n\r\n\u201cThe laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.\"\r\n\r\nEnjoy everything about the armed lifestyle, and do your part to help others enjoy it as well. The words \u201cfor ourselves, and our posterity\u201d are in the Constitution for a darn good reason.
