There are a number of different 12 gauge ammo choices out there for shooters that can lead to confusion. If you have a purpose in mind, you can easily use these tables below to figure out what shotgun ammo for sale is the best fit for your purpose. A good rule of thumb is that with birdshot, the larger the number, the smaller the pellets inside the shell and ultimately, the smaller the game you hunt should be. With buckshot, "000" or triple-aught is the largest with six pellets per ounce. This is a large load that can take down fairly large game or serve as a self-defense round if you rely upon a shotgun to protect your home.
