The 10mm Auto caliber was designed to achieve superior ballistic performance and now Sig Sauer's Elite Performance Ammunition compliments that goal and gives you great modern features for your personal defense handgun ammo.

Sig Sauer uses the name "V-Crown" for their unique jacketed hollow-points. The V-Crown bullet has a wider mouth and deeper seat than many other hollow-point designs which provides great expansion on impact. It also features a toothed cannelure which not only resists bullet setback during cycling, but locks the copper jacket to the lead core of the bullet, resulting in better weight retention and energy delivery. These bullets are loaded into reloadable brass casings which are then coated in ducta-bright 7a nickel for smoother cycling and reliable operation. Those casings are fitted with non-corrosive boxer primers and filled with a clean-burning, low flash propellant.

Sig Sauer has done extensive testing of these V-Crown rounds and found them to expand reliably in ballistic gelatin after passing through common intermediate barriers like drywall, heavy denim, leather, and 3/4" plywood. This particular 180 grain bullet leaves the muzzle at 1,250 feet per second while exhibiting 624 foot-pounds of energy. It possesses a very flat flight trajectory with only a half inch of deviation out to 50 yards where it can still deliver up to 493 foot-pounds of energy.
