Each shell is loaded with nine beads of 00 buck (approximately 1-1/0 ounces), each of which races out of the muzzle at a velocity of 1,350 fps. A JET shell’s wad isn’t full length, but it does have a compression zone that mitigates felt recoil in addition to preserving pellet sphericity during ignition. The pellets are made of lead-antimony alloy, which is harder than pure lead and therefore less susceptible to deformation. That promotes tighter pattern density and deeper penetration through a soft medium.
