Those were the last words spoken by Phineas Q. Prairie Dog just after spotting a hunter on the horizon. What Phineas did not know was that the hunter had chambered a 17 HMR cartridge by CCI.

The bullet that sealed Phineas’s fate was a 17 grain VNT. The distance he had intended to refer to really didn’t matter, because the VNT’s blistering muzzle velocity and ballistically efficient design give it a remarkably flat trajectory. He couldn’t have known the VNT is loaded to a velocity 100 fps faster than other similar hunting rounds.

Phineas didn’t even notice the VNT in action once it struck him. The bullet’s sharp polymer tip shot straight down into its hollow lead core, finally colliding into the base of the shaft to trigger instantaneous, explosive fragmentation.

His friends found small pieces of Phineas throughout the valley that day.
