Each round sports a highly standardized 40 grain lead round nose, with the streamlined profile and concentric body it needs to deliver consistent ballistic performance with every shot. The bullet also owes its high 0.173 G1 ballistic coefficient to its subsonic 1,080 fps muzzle velocity, which enables the projectile to completely avoid losing stability as the result of transitioning from supersonic to subsonic. A subsonic cartridge like this may not generate enough pressure to ensure full functionality of a semi-automatic, but it does make less noise when it’s fired!
