About This Browning .22 Long Rifle Ammunition

So long as you’ve got 22 LR ammo, you’ve always got fun to look forward to. Browning loads plinking and target shooting ammunition in the USA, so you never have to return an empty soda can with only one hole in it ever again.

The 40 grain lead round nose is the 22 LR’s most popular bullet. It doesn’t need copper plating to deliver a consistent trajectory, and it doesn’t need a hollow point nose cavity because it’s not designed for varmint hunting. Still, there’s going to be a new squirrel in squirrel heaven if you ever shoot a squirrel with one of these.

This bullet’s black oxide coating doesn’t actually turn it black, which is too bad because that would make it look neat. What the coating does do is reduce friction to help a semi-automatic feed more easily. Semi-autos should also receive enough pressure from this high-velocity ammo to reliably feed and extract.
