One hundred twenty-five grains is pretty low on the 30-06 bullet weight totem pole. You’d rightly expect such a bullet to move pretty fast along a flat trajectory. Indeed, the 0.269 G1 BC JSP rises a mere 2.3” above the bore line en route to 200 yards, at which range it delivers 1,667 ft lbs energy. Drop at 300 yards is -8.1” (and all that’s assuming your barrel’s 24” long, just like Winchester’s own test barrel is).
The JSP isn’t designed to penetrate very deeply. Its light weight, thin jacket, and swift terminal expansion all see to that. That’s precisely the kind of terminal ballistics you want for working over smaller game, of course, which you’ll be doing soon. Our shipping’s not just free. It’s fast, too!
