Winchester wasn’t being cagey when they named this line of ammunition. Super Suppressed is indeed super for suppressed firearms! This round’s 200 grain projectile and weaker propellant charge (relative to that of a supersonic load, at least) translate to a muzzle velocity that fails to exceed the speed of sound. That eliminates the sonic boom from the cartridge’s report, so your suppressor will only encounter the kind of noise its designed to stifle.

The aperture in the open tip bullet’s nose isn’t there to initiate terminal expansion. It’s there because its jacket was drawn first, and subsequently filled with lead to enhance in-flight stability.
