About This Armscor 308 / 7.62x51 Ammunition
We usually like to start a product description with a little lighthearted preamble. This is an exception, because the Hornady Extremely Low Drag - eXpanding (ELD-X) bullet is too laden with features to waste any time dilly-dallying!Is the ELD-X accurate? Here’s a better question: Does the bear … hang out in the woods? Precision is the ELD-X’s middle name! It meets the air head on with a special dispersion-minimizing and heat-resistant polymer tip. It lets the air slide gently across its secant ogive profile and boat tail, too. And thanks to its Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket – one of the most concentric jackets a bullet can wear – the ELD-X stays balanced as it keeps its nose trained tight on the target.
Is that target a game animal within 400 yards? Then the ELD-X won’t let core/jacket fragmentation foil its attempt to stab a deep wound channel. The bullet has an InterLock ring to keep weight retention above 50% within 400 yards; over 85% without! The ELD-X’s terminal expansion is no less reliable. Even a strike very far downrange doesn’t provide too little energy for the Heat Shield to catalyze paralyzing terminal expansion.
