Ammo Inc. gave this target load a 158 grain total metal jacket projectile. It’s just as incapable of terminal expansion as the full metal jacket. But unlike a FMJ, the TMJ has a fully encapsulated lead core. The TMJ’s complete copper shell prevents any part of its core from vaporizing during ignition. That’s good news, because it means the TMJ will keep the barrel of your revolver (or lever gun) cleaner and minimize your exposure to harmful lead gas. This ammo’s a great move if you spend a lot of time at indoor gun ranges.
