This round features a 148 grain hard cast wadcutter projectile, which achieves an extremely consistent muzzle velocity thanks to its premium primer/propellant combo: 740 fps out of a 2” barrel, 800 fps out of a 4” barrel, or 855 fps out of a 6” barrel!

The hard cast bullet is preferred for defense against bears because it is too hard to undergo deformation, which in turn enables it to penetrate very deeply. But a hard cast poses another huge benefit when it comes to accuracy. Because the 21 Brinell hardness bullet doesn’t leave lead fouling on the barrel, it keeps a handgun’s trajectories much steadier over the course of a target shooting session.

The wadcutter doesn’t have a round nose profile. Its nose is perfectly flat, which is why it leaves a perfectly circular hole through a hanging paper or cardboard target. You’ll be able to assess how efficiently you’re landing your shots without any guesswork!
