This cartridge is loaded with a 100 grain total metal jacket projectile. Like the full metal jacket, the TMJ has a solid lead core. Unlike the FMJ, the TMJ’s lead core is entirely sealed away by its copper jacket. Ignition burns off part of an FMJ’s lead core, thus creating extra barrel fouling and exposing the shooter to toxic gas in the process. The TMJ has neither of these shortcomings, which makes it the all-around better bullet for target practice!
