About This Speer .40 Smith & Wesson AmmunitionSpeer’s Gold Dot bullet is one of the finest rounds out there to put into something you don’t particularly care for and wish would stop trying to kill you.
This 40 S&W round’s 155 grain bullet features a true bonded jacket. Its alloyed lead core is permanently married to its copper jacket, which was applied via Speer’s own electrochemical Uni-Cor process. The jacket’s perfect concentricity keeps it stable over a super accurate trajectory. It also resists peeling apart during penetration of a great variety of barriers, letting you more effectively defend yourself against a heavily clothed or shielded attacker.
The Gold Dot bullet certainly doesn’t expand by accident. Its hollow point nose cavity is formed via a series of precise die presses, with the first controlling the width of expansion, and the second controlling the rate of expansion. Count on the Gold Dot’s highly uniform terminal performance to neutralize a threat, fast.
Speer plated this self-defense round’s casing with nickel, promoting the reliability with which it feeds and extracts as well as its ability to resist corrosion while sitting in the magazine. Along with CCI’s own ultra responsive primer and clean burning propellant, you’d fail to find a much better round in your carry weapon’s chamber when you need one there.
