This 44 Mag cartridge by Ammo Inc. features a total metal jacket projectile (which its manufacturer refers to as a “total metal case” – same thing). The TMJ has a normal lead core, but unlike an FMJ its jacket wholly encompasses the base of its core. When the TMJ is exposed to blistering hot propellant gasses, it will not produce any evaporated lead. It also promotes significantly cleaner overall performance, so your firearm’s rifling will remain more effective throughout the duration of your target shooting session.

No living thing is fond of getting hit by any 44 Mag bullet, but the TMJ doesn’t deliver the terminal expansion which would make it ideal for hunting or personal protection.
