This cowboy action .44 Special ammo from Winchester is a great choice for rapid, accurate fire with your revolver or carbine. While not originally a "Wild West" caliber due to its introduction in 1907, the .44 SPL adapts well to action shooting purposes. As with all .44 SPL ammo, these rounds can be safely fired in .44 Magnum revolvers.
Each cartridge in this box of 50 fires a heavy 240 grain lead flatnosed bullet at a muzzle velocity of 750 feet per second. The unjacketed bullet will not damage steel targets; its flat head produces clean, visible holes in paper targets as well. The low velocity of this ammo results in relatively low felt recoil without compromising short range accuracy.
Winchester ammo is loaded in Oxford, Mississippi using non corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases. Established in the 19th century, Winchester is one of the original manufacturers of firearms and ammunition used by those who tamed the West. Although the production of their firearms is now licensed to other companies, the company maintains a strong focus on manufacturing quality US made ammo.
