Which kinds of targets, you ask? That’s the beauty of it. Every target is a worthy recipient of an LSWC. Steel? Absolutely, because the LSWC’s lack of copper makes it far less likely to ricochet dangerous shrapnel back at the firing line? Paper? Especially so, because the LSWC’s angular nose profile enables it to cut a remarkably clean hole through it – or cardboard. A human threat? There are better bullets for defense, although the LSWC’s nose profile does make it more damaging to soft tissue than a conventional FMJ or LRN bullet. Its ability to gouge out a harmful wound channel without having to undergo expansion makes the LSWC an especially suitable choice for defense with a snub nose revolver, in theory.

Posted onHSM 44 special ammo has proven to be accurate, reliable, and pretty fun to shoot! Recoil, while not 38 special level, is mild in almost any .44 you have. It's a little "stout" in the Charter Arms line of 44 Specials, but then, what do we expect after all it only weighs a tiny bit over 20oz. But this load is pretty good in this little revolver for practice. It is very goou, and pretty mild in a 2.75' Model 69 S&W Combat Magnum, and great for a day at the range. I really like a lighter 200 grain bullet in my .44 specials, and HSM has them too! Nothing more fun when using this ammo than sitting empty soda pop cans near the top edge of a backstop and placing an HSM round just below it to start it bouncing, and dodging down the hill and seeing how many hits you make on it as it tries to get away to the bottom of the berm, and safety! Load up on this 44 Special HSM ammo stock and load up your 44's for a day at the range, and fun!
