5.56X45 ARMSCOR SUBSONIC 77 GRAIN OTM (200 ROUNDS)

About This Armscor 5.56x45mm Ammunition

THIS IS SUBSONIC AMMUNITION. IT DOES NOT CYCLE A SEMI-AUTO.

We love loud stuff! If there’s ever a heavy metal concert during a Blue Angels air show, then you’d better believe we’ll be there. And if you tell us your dog can bark louder than any other dog on earth, please invite us over to your house so we can listen. That sounds like a truly neat and remarkable thing to bear witness to.

But we can also appreciate quiet stuff, too. Take this special 5.56x45 ammunition by Armscor, for example. It’s really unusual, because its muzzle velocity is (almost) as slow as cold molasseses running uphill during a snowstorm: a sluggish 1,100 fps out of a 18” test barrel.

That’s subsonic, compadre. Ignition won’t be accompanied by a sonic boom, which in turn promotes the most effective suppressor performance your little ears will ever hear.

This round’s bullet is heavy (but not weirdly heavy) at 77 grains. It owes its subsonic muzzle velocity to its weaker propellant charge, which gives the bullet too little oomph to be of much good beyond 100 yards or so. It is a Hornady open tip match, though, so it is reasonably accurate (at close range). It’s also not designed to initiate terminal expansion. The OTM’s nose cavity is merely the cosmetic byproduct of a manufacturing process that yields very aerodynamic bullets!
