About This Winchester 5.56x45mm Ammunition

Consider 5.56x45 M855 your AR-15’s dual-purpose ammunition. Not only is this ammo swell for target shooting (wherever magnetic bullets are permitted); it is also suitable for self-defense courtesy of its special penetrator bullet.

This round’s 62 grain FMJ looks like any other FMJ with the exception of its green-painted tip. This symbolizes the M855’s unique core: lead in the back, seven grains of steel in the front. The M855 is designed to penetrate light body armor and sheet metal. It also offers great accuracy, especially if you have the 1:9 or 1:8 barrel twist required for optimal in-flight stabilization.

This is not military surplus ammo, but it is military-grade. Its brass cases are new despite not having been polished, and its Boxer primers are totally non-corrosive. Winchester loads these rounds on stripper clips for added convenience – they even include a spoon with the package. The military-quality rubber-gasketed ammo can will protect your investment from damage on its way to the range or while its sitting in your closet.
