5.56X45 WINCHESTER USA 62 GRAIN FMJ M855 (1000 ROUNDS)
“The Penetrator.” It sounds like an awful knockoff of a popular ‘80s action movie, but in the shooting world it’s a special kind of 5.56x45 bullet. Whether you use this M855 ammo’s unique terminal performance for self-defense or make use of it at the rifle range is totally up to you!This 5.56 round harbors a 62 grain bullet. It’s a little heavier than usual to help it retain more of its velocity at long distance, but otherwise it’s no different on the outside than any other FMJ. On the inside, however, is a steel penetrator tip. It strengthens the bullet to promote clean penetration through 1/8” thick sheet metal at distances up to 1,000 feet.
This round’s 62 grain FMJ offers serviceable accuracy even if you don’t fire it through the recommended 1:8 or 1:9 twist barrel. The bullet comes seated in a new production brass case, not a reloaded one. (That grayness around the case’s neck is just a byproduct of heat-treatment during its manufacturing process.) Non-corrosive primers and clean-burning propellant won’t quickly much up your AR-15 with harmful or gummy residues!

Posted onI’ve purchased many rounds from Ammoman over the years and these M855’s are a good one to stash. Most indoor ranges won’t allow these rounds as a heads up.
