This cartridge is crowned with Winchester’s highest-quality open tip projectile. The 140 grain bullet only bears a superficial resemblance to the kind of jacketed hollow point you might use for self-defense. Like a hollow point boat tail, the open tip has a hole in its nose because its core was inserted into place while it was still liquid lead. The voidless core is surrounded by a thin and intensely concentric jacket, thus granting the open tip optimal in-flight gyroscopic stability.
