Speer's Lawman series consists of practice ammunition that matches the ballistic performance of loads in Speer's Gold Dot hollow point line. This 9mm Luger ammo, packaged in a case of 1,000 (with 20 boxes of 50 rounds each) for maximum bulk savings, uses a 124 grain bullet and is the ideal training round for users of 124 grain Gold Dots. As the name implies, Lawman ammo is popular for law enforcement training due to its low cost and ability to inexpensively simulate the use of the Gold Dot round, a common police sidearm load.

These rounds use a total metal jacket (TMJ) bullet, which is not compatible with firearms fitted with the ported barrels often found on competition firearms. However, TMJ bullets cost less to manufacture than FMJ bullets and provide better lead protection, as they cover the base of the bullet (an area typically left exposed in the FMJ process).
