This is Ammo Inc. product #9115TMC: 9 for 9mm, 115 for 115 grains, and TMC for total metal case. The TMC is more commonly referred to as the total metal jacket (TMJ), and it is suitable for any kind of target practice you have in mind.The TMJ and the more common FMJ are equal in terms of their terminal performance. Neither bullet can expand, so they are just as impractical for self-defense. Where the TMJ excels is its cleaner performance. Whereas the FMJ’s jacket leaves the bottom of its lead core bare, the TMJ’s jacket covers the entire bullet. This is why the TMJ doesn’t produce lead vapor when it is heated. It will keep the inside of your barrel cleaner and your firearm more accurate as the result. It will also keep the air you breathe healthier – a benefit you may one day greatly appreciate, especially if you do a lot of shooting indoors.
Ammo Inc.’s nonmagnetic bullets get their own virgin brass cases and non-corrosive Boxer primers. They are also loaded with Ammo Inc.’s Hyperclean Technology, which forces the propellant to leave behind less residue once it has all burned up.
