The future of lever gun ammo? It’s already here! Hornady LEVERevolution, which does away with the flat point bullet the name of big time stopping power!

First and foremost, this 10mm round’s 150 grain Flex Tip eXpanding (FTX) bullet is safe for a lever-action rifle. Its nose is pointed, but only because it ends in a supple polymer Flex Tip. It absorbs shock if it gets jostled inside the mag (as opposed to igniting the neighboring round’s primer, which you definitely don’t want).

The payoff for adding polymer to the lever-action hunting experience? Superb velocity retention, which Hornady promises can result in up to 40% more kinetic energy on target (than an FN alternative). The tail of the flat-shooting FTX’s Flex Tip is seated inside its nose cavity. The force of impact causes the FTX’s tail to compress, which in turn accelerates terminal expansion and accompanying energy transfer.

Please note: According to Hornady, a newer magazine follower may be necessary to provide best possible functioning of the last round out of certain guns’ magazines. They don’t specify which.
