Designed with the avid deer hunter in mind, this slug has a muzzle velocity of 1800 feet per second, about 13% higher than other standard 1 oz. slugs. The knock down power of this slug is tremendous. They are also slightly oversized for smooth-bore shotguns, which makes their performance even better. The slug is sealed tight against the barrel leading to more consistent shot-to-shot velocities. Even though they are specially designed for smooth bore barrels, they also work fine in rifled choke tube barrels or fully rifled barrels.
