The MatchKing is America’s most popular bullet for competitive shooting. It is supremely accurate thanks in no small part to its thin jacket, which is drawn to a concentricity standard of no more or less than three ten-thousandths of one inch. The MatchKing’s core is similarly well balanced, as it cooled within the jacket so it could perfectly conform to its interior geometry. The MatchKing is also extremely aerodynamic courtesy of its narrow hollow point tip and boat tail. And because the bullet is so massive at 77 grains, it overcomes air resistance efficiently enough to exhibit a G1 ballistic coefficient of 0.362 (compare that to a standard 55gr FMJ load, which has a G1 BC that’s usually around 0.246).

You will want a faster rate of twist for the heavy MatchKing: 1:7”, or close to it. You also don’t want to mistake the HPBT for a hunting bullet, as it is not designed to widen out as it pierces a quarry’s body. This ammo’s premium brass cases are Boxer-primed and reloadable.
