High volume AR-15 shooters will appreciate the low cost of this .223 Remington ammo from Barnaul's Brown Bear series. These cartridges enjoy a strong price advantage due to their use of steel cases. While steel cases are not reloadable, they are much less expensive to produce than brass ones. With modern polymer coatings that reduce chamber friction, steel cases can offer extremely cost-effective performance.

Each cartridge in this box of fires a 55 grain full metal jacket bullet at a muzzle velocity of about 3,050 feet per second. Note that this ammo has magnetic properties due to its steel components and may not be suitable for all indoor ranges.

Brown Bear ammo is manufactured at the Barnaul Machine Plant in Russia and uses non-corrosive Berdan primers.
