This round is outfitted with Remington’s 62 grain hollow point match projectile. We always have to point out that this kind of hollow point is not an ideal choice for self-defense, nor is it suitable for hunting game larger than varmints. Its nose cavity is not engineered to deliver terminal expansion – as such, the HP match’s terminal ballistics are essentially the same as those of an FMJ. The bullet’s nose cavity reflects the way it was manufactured. First Remington drew an thin and evenly thick copper jacket; next they filled that jacket with lead, thus creating a rearward situated and uniformly distributed core.

The result of all that effort is a flat-shooting, wind-resistant, 0.205 G1 ballistic coefficient projectile. Once the bullet hits its advertised muzzle velocity of 3,025 fps, it’s able to sprint to 300 yards without having to rise by more than 7.27” on its way there!
