About This Winchester 223 Remington Ammunition
One day, not too far into the future, there might not be any 223 Rem ammunition. When you want to shoot something, you’ll have to do it the old-fashioned way: by punching it.Hopefully that day never comes. But if it does, then hopefully you will have prepared for it by stocking up on Winchester’s tried-and-true American-made 223 Rem ammunition ahead of time!
This round’s bullet is the most common one you will find in a 223 Rem cartridge. It’s a 55 grain FMJ, just like the Armed Forces’ 5.56 M193 cartridge is loaded with. It has a copper jacket, with a cannelure to prevent setback in the magazine. It has a lead core, without a nose cavity and accordingly incapable of terminal expansion. It has no steel, however, which is why this ammo gives you the green light to fire away at any rifle range.
Winchester doesn’t load this ammo with old, previously fired brass cases. They’re just as reloadable as they are brand new, and they are primed with modern Boxers for corrosion-free performance.
