Its 150 grain weight, streamlined profile, concentric jacket, uniformly distributed core and 2,980 fps muzzle velocity all contribute to the round’s 0.406 G1 ballistic coefficient. In other words, the bullet won’t destabilize as the result of becoming subsonic until it has whizzed past the 1,000-yard line.
So fast and heavy a bullet is going to make quite a mark wherever it lands, although the FMJ’s inability to deliver terminal expansion makes it a very poor choice for deer hunting. Unless it’s an emergency, stick to firing this nonmagnetic ammo at the range!
