“Ten bullets through one hole.” J.W. Hornady’s goal may seem like a hard one to pull off with your 308 Winchester rifle – until you’ve tried out Hornady Superformance Match ammunition, that is.

This cartridge showcases the outstanding accuracy of the Extremely Low Drag Match projectile. The 168 grain bullet owes its high 0.523 G1 and 0.263 G7 ballistic coefficients to its concentric and sleek Advanced Manufacturing Process jacket, rotationally stable solid lead core, and optimally angled boat tail. The ELD Match’s signature feature is its Heat Shield tip, which is composed of heat-resistant polymer. It assures that the ELD Match always presents a perfect meplat downrange, regardless of how fiercely aerodynamic heating cooks it.

Note that the ELD Match’s polymer tip is not designed to initiate terminal expansion. As such the bullet is no more suitable for hunting than an FMJ.

A Superformance Match cartridge’s propellant isn’t just formulated to produce a consistent muzzle velocity across a wide range of temperatures. It is also formulated to increase muzzle velocity by up to 200 fps, but without creating added recoil as a result. Hornady’s Nebraska-made ammunition also features first-rate reloadable match-grade brass cases.
