The bullet takes its name from the ring on the interior of its jacket, which protrudes into and locks the jacket to the lead core. At the same time, the JSP’s unjacketed lead tip supplies the shocking terminal expansion needed for the coveted fast-and-clean kill.

Remington reports this round’s 2,100 fps muzzle velocity and 0.245 G1 BC using what we believe to be a 16” test barrel. Those are good numbers, and indicate that the JSP conserves just over half of its starting energy at 200 yards.
