First to exit the barrel is the all-lead FTX slug. It’s shaped like a bullet, with a protruding polymer-tipped nose cavity that delivers reliably wide terminal expansion. Following after the slug are two .35 caliber shot pellets (which are larger than 00 buck, but smaller than triple-aught). These are made of swaged, high-antimony lead, and therefore resistant to deformation. That gives each pellet a higher chance of reaching one of the threat’s vital organs (aka “off buttons”).
