45 ACP SILVER BEAR 230 GRAIN FULL METAL JACKET #AS45FMJ (500 ROUNDS)
During World War II, Barnaul Machine Plant in Russia made half of the entire Soviet army's ammunition. Today, the plant makes Stalin roll in his grave by operating as a privately owned enterprise and exporting the "Bear" ammo series to the US. This Silver Bear ammo, packaged in a case of 500 (10 boxes of 50) is an economical way to feed your .45 ACP pistol. It delivers typical .45 Auto ballistics with a 230 grain bimetal jacketed bullet."Silver Bear" ammo gets its name from the zinc plating used on the non-reloadable steel cases. Steel-cased ammo is a Russian tradition that takes advantage of the country's abundant iron ore deposits. These rounds use non-corrosive Berdan primers.

Great practice ammo
How quickly did your order arrive? How likely are you to recommend this product to a friend? If this, Wolf, other "color" of Bear, Red Army Standard,,,,,name your steel cased ammo (possible exception of especially older lots of Tulaammo), doesn't work in your handgun it isnt the ammo's fault it is your gun. You have some overpriced ultra tight tolerance Kimber or whatever and there is a good chance it will jam with name your very pricey American brass cased practice ammo. Ive practiced with little else than with steel cased ammo for years with no problems using various 1911's, my Glock 21 and 30........no problems at all. They might group slightly different than your self defense loads but take that into account should such ammo ever be required. Like someone said, if your gun wont eat steel cased it doesnt deserve brass cased

Wouldn't feed
How quickly did your order arrive? How likely are you to recommend this product to a friend? Shot 100 rounds through my colt and para 1911. Every mag for the colt had 3 rounds out of 8 that wouldn't feed and 5 to 6 out of 14 for the para. My guns are always clean and wel lubricanted. They never had any trouble with any other brand.

It's an OK deal if your gun can handle it
How quickly did your order arrive? How likely are you to recommend this product to a friend? It's an OK deal if your gun can handle it - and if you don't mind the residue. My 1911 (which I built) shoots every brand and type of ammo I've ever tried without complaint, but would not go into battery with this brand. I handed the box to the range safety officer who had a Springfield Armory 1911 and he had no problem with it. After some research, I learned that the steel cases and steel core/steel jacked bullets common in many Soviet Block brands have a different coefficient of friction [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friction#Coefficient_of_friction] from US and popular West European brands, which causes cycling problems in some guns. In my case, I was able to get the rounds to function briefly by greasing the chamber and the bullets. But, after one magazine the residue buildup prevented the slide from going into battery. Ammoman very kindly allowed me to return the unopened boxes for a store credit - unheard of in this business! What great guys!

Great ammo if you can find it priced this close to Brown Bear
How quickly did your order arrive? How likely are you to recommend this product to a friend? Though I personally would favor rounds coated in the polymer coating that both the "lower end" Wolf and Bear ammo comes with, I have never had any problems whatsoever with the Silver Bear line in either 9mm or .45acp which is the extent of my familiarity with Silver Bear ammo. It does group every bit as well as polycoated Wolf or Brown Bear but does look a little better with its nickle coated cases though I don't really see any real advantage to that coating. I always figured it was a Russian way of adding a few dollars to the cost of their ammo. Again, this ammo has a MUCH cleaner powder mixture than older Russian ammo. Over the past few years the Russkies have apparently listened to the griping of their largest market (America) about the carbon fouling their old ammo did produce a bit of and they DID change their powder mix. The result in all their ammo is a much cleaner burning product. All the Russian ammo has been extremely reliable but with their change in powder mix came also tighter groups, at least from what I have seen in their usually less expensive polycoated ammo. I would buy this ammo and use the money saved to buy more as you should always remember to "practice, practice, practice".....and this is VERY good practice grade ammo that is every bit as good as anything similar coming from the USA as practice grade ammo. SAVE YOUR MONEY and BUY!!
