5.56X45 BLACK HILLS 77 GRAIN OTM MK 262 MOD 1-C (460 ROUNDS IN AMMO CAN)
Anyone can be an Ammo Man. All they need is ammo. But you’ll need a certain kind of ammo if you want to be an Accurate Man. We are speaking of 5.56x45 Mk 262 MOD1-C by Black Hills Ammunition of South Dakota, of course. This cartridge represents all of Black Hills founder Jeff Hoffman’s hard work developing the ideal match-grade cartridge for the Mk 12 Special Purpose Rifle. In order to give the Navy’s SPR an effective range of 600 yards, Mr. Hoffman chose to load the Mk 262 Mod-1 with special slow-burning and heat-insensitive propellant, a smooth-extracting brass case, and a heavyweight 77 grain MatchKing open tip match projectile. The sleek and balanced bullet achieves a 0.64 MOA maximum in 10-shot groups.
Mk 262 MOD 1-C ammunition is virtually identical to the Mk 262 MOD 1 utilized by military snipers. Black Hills just doesn’t subject it to the same level of testing required by the U.S. government. If you plan on keeping this ammo in storage, its rugged steel ammo can will keep it nicely sealed up and safe.
