This cartridge is loaded with precisely the projectile you want for target shooting: the 55 grain full metal jacket boat tail. Its lead core and gilding metal jacket can’t attract a magnet, and the latter hardens the bullet enough to ensure smooth feeding and low barrel fouling. The bullet’s boat tail makes it slightly more aerodynamic, which allows it to retain more of its velocity while in flight – not to mention resist getting blown off course by crosswinds. We don’t bill this as self-defense ammo because it won’t expand following impact. That said, it will fragment, which would be a huge problem for any home invader to have to deal with.
