About This Sterling 5.56x45mm Ammunition
If I could have only one wish, it would be to send a few crates of AR-15s to Benjamin Franklin back in 1776. A clever feller like him could have figured out a good use for them.I’d also send him a few truckloads of high-quality 5.56x45 combat ammunition, and a few more truckloads more of Sterling’s affordably priced 5.56x45 training and plinking ammunition. That way the Original Boys could learn what kind of firepower they’re working with.
This ammunition is made in Turkey. The country wasn’t strategically aligned with Great Britain in any meaningful way back in the 1770s, so supplying this ammo to the Sons of Liberty wouldn’t have represented a conflict of interest on their part.
Sterling kept this ammo real basic. It’s M193 in every way, with the same kind of 55 grain full metal jacket bullet patriots prefer for target shooting nationwide. It’s a steel-free cartridge, from its new brass case to its nonmagnetic FMJ. It’s also a noncorrosive cartridge, with a modern Boxer primer to attend to ignition.
