50 BMG HORNADY 750 GRAIN A-TIP MATCH (100 ROUNDS)
Want to squeeze the absolute best long-range precision out of your 50 BMG rifle? Then save the M33 for a less important occasion. You want Hornady’s long, heavy A-Tip Match projectiles when you’re shooting for all the beans! This round’s bullet does not have a polymer tip. That is an aluminum tip: precision machined, and longer than a standard poly tip in order to optimize center of gravity and in-flight stability. The tip’s flat meplat is Hornady’s own Drag Variability Reduction Technology, which reduces dispersion and standardizes drag in the name of tighter groups. The A-Tip Mach’s concentric AMP jacket does a great deal more to stabilize it in flight, as do its fine-tuned ogive and bearing surface.
What does it all add up to? A 1.050 G1 ballistic coefficient. Let’s do the numbers assuming (A) 36” barrel, and (B) 10mph wind blowing in at 90-degree angle:
0 yds - 2815 fps | 13199 ft lbs | -3.0” EL | 0.0” W
500 yds - 2392 fps | 9532 ft lbs | 75.34” EL | 8.0” W
1000 yds - 2008 fps | 6714 ft lbs | 0.0” EL | 34.7” W
1500 yds - 1664 fps | 4613 ft lbs | -293.8” EL | 85.5” W
2000 yds - 1373 fps | 3139 ft lbs | -906.0” EL | 166.8” W
