This 6.5 Creedmoor cartridge by Sellier & Bellot fills a sweet spot. Its bullet is not a high-tech polymer-tipped thing that costs more money, but it’s also not a regular FMJ that wouldn’t be suitable for hunting medium-size game. It’s the good old-fashioned soft point!

The soft point bullet’s economical design provides accuracy as good as an FMJ and significant terminal expansion that’ll kill deer and smaller critters dead on arrival. This 131 grain 0.389 G1 BC projectile achieves 2,740 fps muzzle velocity out of a 21.75” test barrel. It should only need to rise by about 3.5” when you zero at 200 yards. It’ll also retain at least 1,000 ft lbs of energy until about 420 yards.
