About This Prvi Partizan 7.62 x 54R Ammunition

Call it whatever you want – 3-line rifle M1891, Mosin–Nagant, Mosin's rifle or just “the nugget.” But however you refer to it, that classic rifle needs 7.62x54r ammo if you’d actually like to fire the thing. Fortunately we have Prvi Partizan of Serbia to tend to that exact need!

This cartridge is loaded with a 182 grain projectile. That’s on the heavier end of the spectrum, relatively speaking, but it’s still set to achieve a muzzle velocity of 2,624 fps once it’s cleared a 28.5" barrel. The bullet is an FMJ, which is to say it’s non-expanding and accordingly poorly equipped for deer hunting, but at least Prvi Partizan doesn’t put any steel in their nonmagnetic bullets. Take this ammo to any range you like!

Brass cases are a welcome bonus for any shooter who appreciates cleaner performance. You’ll likely notice that the cases are grayish around their mouths, but that’s not evidence that they were previously reloaded. Prvi Partizan just doesn’t waste time buffing up their military grade brass cases, seeing as how shininess offers no tactical advantage.

This ammo’s primers are non-corrosive. They will not produce hygroscopic salts that will eventually destroy your rifle unless you follow special steps while cleaning. But because they’re Berdan primers and not Boxers, this ammo’s cases are a terrible pick for handloading.
