You still get plenty of frills when you buy it, though. Its reloadable brass cases, Boxer primers, and clean-burning powder are all a great manufacturer’s greatest work. Its 90 grain bullets and 1,300 fps muzzle velocity also add up to pretty darn pleasant recoil; maybe not analogous performance to your preferred self-defense ammo, but excellent if you’re just looking forward to comfortable and accurate rapid fire.
The chief drawback to Champion series ammo is its plated bullets. The full metal jacket’s thinner copper shell may expel slivers of shrapnel if it passes through a ported barrel or compensator. You won’t want to be near your pistol if that happens. But if your pistol doesn’t have a ported part, then plated jackets are no setback at all!
