About This Federal .22 Long Rifle Ammunition
GOD BLESS THE 22 LR – a cartridge any Tom, Dick or Harry can order by the thousand and still afford to keep breathing. If you want to have ALMOST INTOLERABLY INTENSE FUN shooting targets – or striking down varmints like you’re wielding the ALMIGHTY POWER OF ZEUS’ LIGHTNING BOLT (figuratively speaking) – then you’ll love this Federal Black Pack. Not one thousand rounds, but ELEVEN HUNDRED (OH MY GOODNESS) rounds of the Minnesota made good-goods.
Federal clocked this one’s 1,260 fps muzzle velocity using a rifle barrel of unspecified length. It’s high, but not indicative of overpressurization, as the bullet’s lighter 36 grain weight shows. Muzzle velocity varies greatly by firearm, but if you’ve got enough barrel to hit 1,260 fps MV, then you’re talking 80 ft lbs striking energy at 100 yards.
That there bullet’s a CPHP: copper-plated hollow point, which uses its plating to curtail (but by NO means eliminate) lead fouling and its hollow point to hurt varmints better.
