This shell’s 3/8 ounce charge of #6 steel shot contains 118 pellets total. That is much fewer shot pellets than you would find in a 410 Bore 3” 11/16 oz. #6 lead shot load, but that’s only because steel possesses a significantly lower density than that of steel.

This shell does make good use of the few shot pellets it contains, however. It is loaded to a piping hot 1,400 fps muzzle velocity, which gives steel shot the extra push it needs in order to exhibit good stopping power over longer distances.
