This Federal brand ammo is extra production from the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, the same facility that supplies the US military. Manufactured to the M855 specification and virtually identical to the ammo used in combat by American soldiers around the world, these cartridges fire a 62 grain lead core, steel-tipped full metal jacket bullet (complete with distinctive green tip) at 3,020 feet per second out of the muzzle. An excellent range load for those seeking to get a more authentic shooting experience with their AR-15s or other 5.56 NATO rifles.

Lake City ammunition uses non-corrosive Boxer primers and brass cases built to military specifications down to the case annealing marks.
