At that weight the bullet delivers a nearly Mach 3 muzzle velocity, so it flies straight and hits plenty hard. Its jacket doesn’t contain any steel that could set off a magnet, and its solid lead core is evenly distributed to ensure proper in-flight stability. Its boat tail helps the bullet create less drag as it blasts downrange – that promotes a flatter trajectory, and it also protects the bullet’s course against crosswinds.
Federal’s ammo is always brass-cased. That makes it cycle reliably, shoot cleaner, and a good investment for the handloaders. These rounds’ propellant charges explode nice and clean, and their reliable Boxer primers don’t do anything corrosive to a rifle.
