We know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking “Steel cases? Really? As in the kind that are loaded with magnetic bimetal-jacketed bullets, which I’m not allowed to fire at many commercial ranges?”Now, as much as we love you, we have to tell you when you’re wrong. Magtech does indeed load this ammo with cost-effective steel cases, which are plated with thin layers of nickel to safeguard them against rust in storage. But those bullets? Those bullets are normal FMJs, with lead cores and brass jackets and absolutely zero ability to attract a magnet. You see what we’re saying here?
These rounds’ shiny steel cases contain clean-burning propellant, and have the noncorrosive Boxer primers they need to lob their 124 grain bullets to a velocity of 1,109 fps. Magtech used a 4” test barrel to record that muzzle velocity. That is a good length for a test barrel.
